Barn Fire

In the fall of 1999 I was looking for a brush fire that I had been called to.On my way I found this barn fire. I never made it to the brush fire. The photo was made with a G2 and a 35mm lens.

Ladd/Firefighter

I did a photo story on Chris Ladd who is the only lady firefighter in Adrian, Michigan, where I live. I found Chris on the scene of a brush fire on this day in late 1999. I was shooting with my G2 and a 90 mm lens. My film was Fuji Superia 100.

Hands & Bars

While working on a photo story about the poor condition of the jail I photographed the hands of these prisioners who were real interested in what I was doing. The photo was not used in the story but it was one of my favorites. G2 with a 28mm Biogon Lens.

Tiger usher

The last day at Detroit's Tiger Stadium was a sad and memorable day. As people entered the field area their eyes danced around the stadium wanting to take it all in one last time. This photo was made with my G2 and a 28mm Biogon lens, some file flash was added with the TLA140. Fuji Superia 400.

Hands and Clay

Hands and Clay was shot January 31, 2000. Ten students were working with their instructor after school making soup bowls for a fund raising project. There were several photo Ops on this evening, I regret that I only had about 45 minutes to spend with them. This photo was made with the G2, 45mm lens, and Fuji film. I know that I was shooting somewhere in the1/30 second range to record the blur of the spinning bowl.

Pottery Instructor

Pottery Instructor is the type of portrait that I like to make. I’m a fan of Arnold Newman who is a master of the environmental portrait. I like a portrait that says something about a person. Photo made with G2, 45mm lens, and Fuji film.
