Sculpture

Contax G2 w 45 mm, set at f4, 1/2 sec exposure handheld, skylight filter used.

At night shapes and familiar terrain take on a life of their own. This Sculpture which lives at Lehigh University, felt so alive to me I tried to relate that feeling in my image. Using Kodak Max 400, developed and printed by Kodak, and scanned into Photoshop 5.0.2, using a inexpensive 600x1200 dpi flatbed scanner for cropping, minor touchup of dust and lint, and file sizing for internet transmission. I also used the clone tool to remove a distraction in the composition. I think the walkers in the image bring scale and action to the scene and the flare around sidewalk lamps a festive but comfortable campus environment.

Porch

Contax G2 w 28mm, set at f8, 1/60 sec exposure handheld, UV filter used.

This country porch has several elements that attracted me, a strong stonework corner with  just the right amount of mortar and stucco missing to naturally lead the eye to the central character, the wooden trunk/ bin. Other interesting elements entertain your interest even longer, the watering can ,rocking chair, oil barrels at the end of porch. Its all about a variety of texture, form, and function. Using Kodak Max 400, developed and printed and scanned into Photoshop 5.0.2, as in image # 1, for cropping, minor touchup of dust and lint, and file sizing for internet transmission.

Looking In

I call this image "Looking In", this is a Photoshop creation of three different images. The background behind the warrior in the window and the inside of an old caboose cabin were shot with a G2 with 28mm lens. The warrior was taken using a Nikon 24-120mm lens (sorry). But I thought the effect was worth your viewers. By the way the warrior is very sharp ,its the opaque glass that I place in front of him for reality that softens the image.
